St. Johns County School District Implements BusPlanner Chipmunk to Enhance Communication

NC, U.S., May 13, 2025 — Starting in the 2025–2026 school year, St. Johns County School District will roll out BusPlanner Chipmunk, a new online transportation portal that gives families improved access to students’ bus information. Replacing the current Home Access Center (HAC) system, Chipmunk is designed to offer real-time updates, streamlined communication, and easier access to bus schedules.

Parents and guardians will be able to access BusPlanner through the official web portal at sjcsd.mybusplanner.com or via the Chipmunk mobile app, available for download on both Android and iOS devices. A QR code will also be provided to allow quick access to the website. Registration can be completed using the same email address they currently use for HAC.

With Chipmunk, districts can:

  • Send real-time notifications about bus delays or route changes
  • Enable two-way messaging between parents and the Transportation Department
  • Manage transportation updates through a centralized hub

This free-of-charge solution will make student transportation more transparent, responsive, and accessible to all stakeholders.
